I started by asking Don for the latest news from the battlefront.

So let's start in the east and Russian generals are said to be throwing their troops forward

in their assault on Avdivka despite suffering heavy losses. This is from Ukrainian officials.

So Alexander Stupin, spokesperson for Ukraine Southern Group of forces, said the enemy is trying to move forward

and then we beat them back.

He estimated Russian losses in the last six days.

There's 2,500 dead wounded in the area. Obviously we didn't give a figure

but we've seen some pretty high numbers for equipment losses as well, armoured vehicles, tanks and so on.

He said this is quite significant even for Russia bearing in mind that they do not look after their own men.
