Major American Jewish Organizations, and we're very pleased to be joined by our colleague

Anna Borshevsky of the Washington Institute of watching very carefully Moscow, but most recently

Moscow's president, Mr. Putin, in uniform garb,

traveled to the Kersk region of Russia, where we're told, fog of war, there's a major offensive

under the way to drive Ukrainian forces that have been in Kersk region, this is Mother Russia itself, on the

Ukrainian border, to drive them out of Kersk before and necessarily completely out, there are

further negotiations. And a very good evening to you, Mr. Putin making martial statements about

driving the invaders from our land and speaking

that way forcefully to his generals. Are we looking at an offensive that was launched because the

decision is made for a ceasefire? Are we looking at a reaction to the news that the U.S. had persuaded Keefe to offer a complete ceasefire? Are we looking at a reaction to the news that the U.S. had persuaded Keef to offer a

complete ceasefire? Are we looking at coincidence? Putin's in Kursk, and there's a ceasefire table

on the table that Mr. Putin is ready to reject. Good evening to you. Good evening, General,

Malcolm. And as always great to be with you on

the show. I think we're looking at a picture that fundamentally has not changed, and that is

with or without a ceasefire, Putin's goals are essentially the same, and that is chiefly to

destabilize Ukraine, and also to potentially look beyond Ukraine and to other

territories in Europe. So I know that a ceasefire, of course, is the topic of the day. But the fact

of the matter is, the real question is whether or not a ceasefire is going to make any difference.

Putin, of course, has a history, a long history of breaking ceasefires.

So the real question is have his goals fundamentally changed with or without a ceasefire.
