Russia's overnight attack on the Ukrainian capital was a brutal return to the deadly bombings of early the summer. A strike on central Kiev killed at least 19 people

and wounded a few dozen more in a bombardment of drones and missiles that lasted hours.

Western leaders have accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of dragging his feet on peace talks

while Russian troops inch deeper into Ukraine. We'll have more on the diplomatic front later this hour.

First, though, to Kiev, Jared Goyette lives in the Ukrainian capital, where he's a news editor as well as an English teacher.

He described to us what last night was like for people in Kiev.
