Officials from Russia and Ukraine have held talks in the Turkish city of Istanbul, their

second set of direct negotiations in a matter of weeks. The meeting went ahead despite Russia's

biggest drone attack of the war two nights ago, and Ukraine's audacious strike on Russian air bases

on Sunday.

Ukraine says Operation Spider's Web took more than a year and a half to plan.

Hundreds of drones were smuggled into Russia and launched remotely from inside the roofs of wooden sheds carried by lorries.

They targeted air bases across Russia,

some as much as 4,000 kilometres from the border.

Ukraine says it hit 41 planes,

but it's not known how many were destroyed.

Ukrainian government advisor Yuri Sack said it was a show of strength for the world.
