We begin this podcast in Moscow.

Social media posts early in the morning showed smoke rising above the Russian capital

and debris falling to the ground after a number of drone strikes.

However, the authorities said they had shot down a number of drones,

and the city's mayor said the damage was minor and there were no serious injuries.

A spokesperson of the Russian Investigative Committee, Svetlana Patrenko,

downplayed the damage and said efforts were underway to identify the perpetrators.

Members of the Investigative Committee are looking into a drone crash on buildings in Moscow.

Several buildings have suffered minor damage as a result of a drone crash.
