Little Bit Extra. Morning everybody. Welcome along to your free podcast for today. So we had a lot of

flack against Russell Brand in the papers today. People are saying the man's an idiot. The BBC,

obviously, hailing him as some sort of savior, which is odd, isn't it, really,

when you think that he's just an average comic, very average. I don't know why people

go to see him. I never thought he was funny. I never thought he was interested. He always looked

like he needed a good bath. He might have been slightly better at acting than anything else.

But then he's now taken a swipe at Boris Johnson in a radio interview. He ruled out running for Mayor of London,

talking to a mutual friend of ours on one of our sister stations. He said that Johnson was daft,

and he said, we've already got a comic in the job. So obviously you couldn't book Russell Brown there,

because he's not a comic, but he turned up here. For some reason, he gets a police escort.

I don't know, you managed to get a police escort, but he did.

But there was a lovely picture of him, obviously, up on YouTube, because with the LBC logo in the, in the background, which is very nice indeed.

So he's not going to run for mayor, so that's fantastic. So we're safe. We can all breathe again. Yeah, fantastic. He's flogging a book where he's sort of against,

he's doing all this anarchic stuff. It's like Ben Elton. Years ago, Ben Elton was sort of, you know,

Labour, Labour, Labour, Labour. And then Ben Elton became a champagne socialist and started, you know,

writing musicals, if you please, with Andrew Lloyd Webber. You know, and his working-class roots went right out the window.

And all of a sudden, I should imagine, Ben Elton has probably got quite a bit of money in the bank.
