I'm your host, Maddie Lee, and it's a special episode because it is our first crossover episode with one of our fellow House of L podcast network hosts.

Russ Dorsey is going to join me.

He has been so kind as to give even more of his time this week to this network

because I wanted to talk to him about a conversation that he and I actually started in spring training.

He and I, obviously, if you guys know anything about Russ and if you're on this House of Elfede, you probably do.

He's co-host of the sports adjacent podcast, which is hilarious with Jason Leisure, produced by

Tony Gill. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you should definitely go and check it out.

My bets are that everyone listening to this right now knows exactly what I'm talking about

and how funny these guys are.

But Russ and I also both cover the Cubs.

We're around the same age.

And we got to this point in our careers on completely different paths.

So we started talking in spring training about how many different ways

there are to get into this business and to succeed in this business and grow in this business.

And I thought it would be fun to bring that conversation here and really expand on it and kind of finish it

because, you know, we're just hanging out in the sun in Arizona shooting the shit and

why not actually dig into some of these concepts? Because I think it's something that both he and I are pretty

passionate about. So we'll have him on. We're also going to debut a segment that I'm workshopping the

name a little bit. Right now I'm going with extra innings. If it feels right,

I'll stick with it. If it doesn't, I might change in a couple weeks. But I figured there's

so much going on news-wise that I keep feeling like I have to address and it won't be every week but
