Now, some people might call this pandering, others might call it very slick marketing.

Last week, to celebrate spirit day for LGBT awareness, Kellogg's announced a 50,000 donation

jump change, actually, to GLAD. That's a big LGBT advocacy and protest group.

But here's the marketing angle. Kellogg's also announced the launch of an LGBT theme

serial promotion called Altogether. Now, this special edition gay theme serial was first reported

by pink news. They praised the new Altogether serial claiming that it'll allow LGBT consumers

to start their day with maximum gay. Now, Kellogg's didn't actually create a new serial.

It's just a packaging thing. They put many boxes of stuff they already make like cornflakes,

frosties, rice, crispy, raisin, bran, fruit loops, really. In one big box and they called it

Altogether. The idea is that consumers can mix and match the different serials together anyway

they want, sort of like mixing and matching genders, I guess, from the combo you already have

to something else. Here's the best part. This may actually border ingenious. In order to get

this special edition gay theme serial, you will have to fork over $20, $20 for six

mini boxes of serial. I guess for people who really want Altogether and want it bad,

there are harder things to swallow that may even cost more.
