I'm Pete, joined by Darius and Mike. And ever since Darvin Ham's introductory press conference,

his statements about the Lakers' running habits have been running through my mind. And to a slightly lesser extent, his comments about the four-out one-in spacing that he wants to run. And that's been juxtaposed with, I've been going through a lot of old footage of the Lakers. We've had a couple of anniversaries. We had the 20th anniversary of the three-peat. How crazy is that? It's been 20 years since Shaq and Kobe had their

three-peat in 2002. Last team to do it. Last team to do it. That's right. In American sports,

Tampa Bay Lightning are threatening to do that in hockey, but three-peats are special, man.

They don't come around very often. And then the 1987 team, which is often referred to as, I think, the best of the Showtime teams.

That's their 35th anniversary is coming up as well.

And one thing that's that was really specific to the 87 team, but also the 2020 team, our most recent championship, was they got a lot of free points.

They got a lot of cheat points in transition, including in the finals.

And there's always that old axiomd about how the game slows down in the playoffs.

And it does.

And everybody is more attentive to details.
