Barrett from Cleveland.com along with Stephen Means. We are talking Ohio State

recruiting again. We took kind of a week off because of the NFL draft, which is a different kind of recruiting.

It's like post recruiting, recruiting NFL recruiting, the NFL version of it.

And we're back to talking about Ohio State and what they have coming up in the future.

And we're going to do sort of a week by week. I don't know if it'll be every week. I might get interrupted a little bit here and there.

But we're going to do a series kind of breaking down position by position. Where things stand with Ohio State as far as recruiting for 2022 for 2023.

Where things stand in the room and how that affects the recruiting and where you're starting off with running back.

And it's an interesting position. It's been a position that's been a bit of a roller coaster for Ohio State in the past few years.

Stephen, just very briefly, like, why did you want to start with this? Why was this one the one that kind of captivated your interest?

Yeah, I mean, we're not going to do quarterback. We know what the quarterback situation is.

And so we can just move forward that when yours is going to be the quarterback in 2022.

I think running back is interesting, right? Because Ohio State spent this first two classes under Ryan Day correcting some recruiting misses.

Per say, you know, in 2020, it was getting the two quarter top 100 quarterbacks.

Jack Miller obviously ended up as that, but he has a top 100 talented space off his arm and then going to get CJ Stroud.

And then 2021, it was getting the two top 100 running backs and tray beyond Henderson and Evan prior.

So the way you have to when you do stuff like that, when you over correct the way you approach the next class is it's a little delicate, especially at spots where if you're over correcting, you have to have a conversation with people right.

You don't bring in CJ Stroud unless you've already talked to at least without Jack Miller, at least knowing you're doing it.

You don't bring in Evan prior and tray beyond Henderson unless both of those two guys are on board because one of those guys is eventually going to flip if that doesn't happen.

Guys started to do that. Other teams tried to pit those two guys against each other to try to get one of them that not come to Ohio State.

And so what does that mean for the 2022 class was type of running back do you go after can you just go after the number one running back in the country again.
