This is Todd Pruitt, and I'm joined as always by my co-hosts Amy Bird and Carl Truman.

We want to talk today about a book, actually a two-volume work that has garnered a lot of attention.

It's made several top ten reading lists out there over this past year.

I was happy to put it on my list of top reads for the year. It's entitled

The Devil's Redemption, A New History and Interpretation of Christian Universalism by Michael

McLeimand of St. Louis University. It's published by Baker. And as I said, it's a two-volume

work. The whole thing encompassing around a thousand pages.

It is not a little thing that you read one evening and set aside.

It requires time and commitment, but it is excellent.

It is a thorough work that goes into detail that I would have never even guessed would have been there on this subject.

But I would say that we owe Dr. McClymond a lot of gratitude in giving us such a comprehensive work.

It is not a work without a point at the end. He does critique

universalism in a way that is very effective. He takes it, he looks at it from a scholarly

point of view, but shows over a great deal of time and with a great deal of patience and research

some of the fatal flaws within universalism.

Carl, would you be so kind as to offer just a brief explanation of what Christian
