Did you see the Boston Marathon runner?

This happened, I don't know, a week or two ago.

But there was a young guy, the age of 21,

who fell down. He collapsed, just a thousand feet from the finish line. He tried to get up,

and runners are repeatedly going past him. Now, keep in mind, this is a 26.2 mile run. People train for this for years.

People try to get into the Boston Marathon into place, and they try year after year. And of course,

we had the Boston Marathon bombing years ago. And so there's always

kind of a special moment where people actually get to do it. And it's just so symbolic of what we

stand for here in America that we don't back down. When there's evil, when people

try to do evil things, we don't back down. And I love that about America. I love that about

the spirit of America, that we just don't give up, we don't quit. And here you have a young guy who falls down, he collapses.

I mean, his legs were toast.

Now, if that's not irony, I don't know what the heck is. It's just so

stinking ironic. And there are people passing them by. And finally, one person goes over,

and then right, I mean the second later, another guy comes over. They don't even hesitate. They bend over, they pick him up,

and, or they support his weight. They don't completely pick him up, but they support his weight on

their shoulders, and they literally prop him up, and they finish together. What a symbol of who we are as Americans?
