chapter 24 verses 10 through 12. I find this to be a very interesting passage in the sense of how

relevant it is to our day and our age. Let's read together, and then I'll make some comments.

Proverbs 24 10 through 12 says, If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.

Rescue those who are being taken away to death. Hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.

If you say, the hold we did not know this, does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?

Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it? And will he not repay man according to his works?

Now Solomon is giving us a huge lesson here in something we would maybe refer to as endurance

or courage. And he's explaining to us that when there is a crisis situation, there's some kind of

adversity that has shown up. It is the heart of a God-fearing person to step into that situation

rather than to step away from it and run. Notice in verse 10 he says, If you faint in the day of

adversity, your strength is small. Now it puts me in mind of all these movies you see where some

gentile woman is told bad news and she just fainted straight away. She just falls flat to the floor.

It makes me think, first off, I always wonder, do people really do that when they hear bad news?

Maybe there are people who that's their response. But notice what Solomon says about it.
