Ryan Kraus returning for another journey into madness.

In this episode, we're taking a trip across the pond to examine serial killers Fred and

Rosemary West, who were responsible for no fewer than a dozen deaths spanning from the 1960s

until their arrest in 1994.

The victims ranged from children to adults and were often strangled, tortured, and raped.

But the one thing they had in common is that at some point or another, they had lived

inside a home with Fred West.

This saga ends at the infamous 25 Cromwell Street in Gloucester and with a basement full of buried

bodies.

But to understand how they got there, we need to go back to another place in time.

One of innocence, or lost innocence, Fred's youth, and we ask ourselves, what is he hiding?

Not the physical trail of death.

The cops were able to uncover that.

What we truly need to understand is what Fred was trying to kill

and bury emotionally that failed in a way he felt he had no choice but to compensate

physically.

Moreover, we have to learn why Rose was compelled to follow.

In each killer tandem, whether it's Fred and Rose, Paul Bernardo and Carla Homulka, or Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, we find a dominant oppressor.

The man is normally the alpha killer, so to speak, as the male will often be predisposed to

perpetrating the better part of the brutal violence leading to death or destruction
