Are the Mavericks wasting time? There's no real reports on new candidates or other people. What is Patrick Jumont doing? We'll also want to talk about who else is still on the table for the Mavericks, who's not on the table for the Mavs, and all kinds of stuff like that. But let's start with this. The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Denver Nuggets without Anthony Edwards, Dante Nivenzo, Io D'Sumno, who had come on strong in the last game, and it was just a shocking win for the Timberwolves because the Nuggets came into this season with the best team of the Yokic era, at least on paper that we had talked about. They finally added a bench. They added Jonas Valchunis. They added our guy Tim Hardaway Jr. Peyton Watson had come onto the scene strong. There was a lot of things going in their favor. And then throughout the season, there's just all these kind of down moments

games where like locked on nuggets and the other nuggets media people would be like uh what is this team

doing like this this team is not performing at the level that we had hoped yokech is still an MVP talks

then he goes out with the injury jamaul murray makes you an all you know an all-star team and you're finally like oh now yokal Murray makes you an all-star team, and you're

finally like, oh, now Yokic finally plays with an all-star first time ever, and then they lose

to this Timberwolves team. And the thing that is intertwined in all of this is Tim Connolly.

And Tim Connolly, the now GM of the Timberwolves, was the GM of the Nuggets that helped

put together

that team for a lot of it. And now the Timberwolves beat the Nuggets again without Anthony

Edwards, who goes out with that crazy injury. I saw all the Timberwolves walking in

through the tunnel with the Dante DeVincenzo jersey. He thought that was really cool for them to do that since he's out. I think that was an Achilles injury for Dante. That was a really good way to support their guy. But now I got a bunch of questions and comments from many of you saying, well, does that mean Tim Connolly is out? Well, I think Tim Connolly was out before this because according to Mark Stein, this is the report, he gave an update to one of his stories from his substack. Mark Stein's substack is a must read for all Mavericks fans and just any NBA fan. As the week progressed, even before Minnesota's game six win, meaning they won the series of what I just talked about, sources tell the Steinland there's been a growing resignation Dallas. The permission to speak with Wolves Tim Connolly in search of a new head of basketball operations is unlikely to be granted. There's a lot in there. I'm going to start with this first. First, the Mavs needed permission from the Timberwolves to talk to Tim Connolly at all until the end of the season. Tim Connolly could have opted out of his last, the last year of his deal. Then he could have been, then he just would have been a free agent, and then he would have been able to talk to the Mavs then. If they talked to him before that, it's tampering, which the Mabbs would never do. No NBA team would ever do that. No tampering happening over here. So there's that part of it where the MAVs were people are like, are the mavics are wasting

time, you know, what are they doing?

There's no reports, all this.

It feels like on Twitter and in our group chat about what the Mavericks are doing and what

they're not doing. And he's just very, very impatient about this whole process, which I get because it's important. We'll talk about that in a second. So they would need permission. And so they're kind of waiting until some of these teams get eliminated, right? There's reports that they want to talk to Brad Stevens. Well, they're still playing in the playoffs.

There's reports that they want to talk to Tim Connolly.

Well, his team's still playing. Sam Presti, his team's still playing, right? And so with this Tim Connolly thing, they would have to wait until they got eliminated. And then for him to opt out of his deal. And now there's reports that's saying that there's resignation from the Mavericks. they're going to get even permission at all to talk to Tim,

to talk to Tim Connolly at a certain point.

And so his name is off the table to me. I don't think that this is an option for the Mavericks anymore. He was the guy that I thought was the number one option. I did not see the Timberwolves win this series. I don't even I don't even know if Timberwolves winning this series actually changed that as much as the wolves are just not going to allow him to talk. It's just like the Jason Kid talks last year with the Knicks. The Mabs were just like, no, you can't talk to our guy. All right, well, then it's done. He's under contract. He's with that team. This is not like college football necessarily where, you know, Lane Kiffin can be under contract and then just leave and go somewhere else.
