Alright, so I got to start today's show with an apology, and if you caught the end of

yes or last episode, we were talking about a question that came through on Adam's

history corner about, you know, what world empire from the past was most like the

Toronto Maple Leafs.

Everything going for it, and then just kind of failed, and so, you know, I started the

conversation off saying that, you know, all empires are inherently evil.

They take people's land, and then they say it's ours now, and you're living under our

rules.

And one of the things that I brought up, I brought up an empire called the Ottoman Empire,

and they are, you know, they span from Egypt all the way up through Palestine to Syria,

obviously the main part being in current day Turkey, but they also control the good part

of the Balkans, and right up until, I think the 1700s, they were into close to Hungary,

like they were right on the border.

And you know, when I was talking about this, it's pretty impossible these days, and obviously

since it's disillusioned to talk about it, and not talk about what happened with the

Armenian community in the Ottoman territory, and so I specifically did not say the word

genocide, and I went back and listened to it, I'm like, you and any of it.

Adam, like the show had been posted for all of five minutes before Adam was like, I don't

like what I said.
