I teach at Villanova Law, and we had quite a guest this week.

Christopher Seeger, an attorney that was the lead attorney for the NFL

concussion settlement, global settlement that includes 20,000 plus retired players. Chris sat down

with my class. I recorded it. It is a quite interesting lecture talking about how he got

involved with the case and how the case goes.

So without further ado, on the Business of Sports podcast, Chris Seeger, the lead attorney for

the global NFL concussion settlement for the players.

I'm going to sort of give you an open canvas to really talk about how you got involved

with the NFL concussion settlement and what motivated you

through a long process and we'll get to the actual settlement. But what kept you going

and dealing with these players that were suffering considerably and their states and their families?

So the case didn't come to me by any, if you got, can you hear you read the back?

By any unusual route.

You know, many of my cases get started because, you know, and this is very typical, a lawyer

somewhere has a client that got injured by something and he can't handle the case because he doesn't want to take on Pfizer, Merck, or the NFL, or a big

company like that, because he may not have the resources. So they'll refer, you know, those people

to our firm to look into the case. That's how the NFL case came to me. It was somebody who
