Summary
My guest today is Jay Messina who grew up in Brooklyn, NY finding his first gig at Don Elliott's studio using Les Paul's one inch, 8 track machine. He then went to A & R Studios for 4 years, and the next 15 years at Record Plant NY recording all genres of music including Aerosmith, Kiss, Miles Davis, and lots more.
His studio today is called West End Sound and I'm excited to talk with Jay about some of the iconic records he has made including: Aerosmith Toys in The Attic, and KISS Destroyer to name a couple.
Thanks so much to Steve Marcantonio for making our introduction. Steve of course has known Jay for at least 150 years making records together since before the Gramophone was invented!
