Before we start a statement released by Her Majesty the Queen this afternoon not long after we had finished recording.

As Philip and I arrive at Windsor today, we know that many individuals and families across the United Kingdom and around the world are entering a period of great concern and uncertainty.

We are all being advised to change our normal routines and regular patterns of life for the greater good of the communities we live in and in particular to protect the most vulnerable within them.

At times such as these, I am reminded that our nation's history has been forged by people and communities

coming together as one, concentrating our combined efforts with a focus on the common goal.

We are enormously thankful for the expertise and commitment of our

scientists, medical practitioners, and emergency and public services, but now

more than any time in our recent past we all have a vitally important part to play as individuals,

Hello and welcome back to Pod Save the Queen. It is coronavirus everywhere. I am sitting in the corner of a spare bedroom where there is some carpet so that I can record this. I'm your host Anne Gripper, working from home as we try to get through all of this coronavirus land.

And I'm joined by our royal editor Russell Myers, who this week should have been away with Charles and Camilla on Adventures, but obviously that has all been cancelled. But Russell, great to have you with us, joining us from somewhere else in London via the miracles of

Indeed, hello, yeah, from Cyprus to South London. It sounds a little bit less glamorous, isn't it?

Virtually and that's something that everybody I think is getting very used to very rapidly and trying to find different ways to keep in touch and communicate and particularly with you know some older members of family aren't always as tech savvy, although to be fair, mine are pretty good.

But it is all very new and working with the office is a new experience and every day.
