The Michigan State Police officially reopened the Roxanne Wood case in March 2001.

The things that they were doing in 2001 are interesting. For example, they had all the drawings and

measurements made at the crime scene by the original investigators in 1987.

They turned all these over to a crime scene reconstructionist to generate a digital computer generated to scale image of the residents. Trooper Davis obtained a list from the tax assessor's

office of all the residents of the Gateway subdivision in 1987 and set out to interview as many as possible.

They re-examined the crime scene photos and came upon a photo of a boot print on the apron, which was near the back door.

The lab had examined the photo at the time of the original incident and reported that the photo lacked sufficient detail for comparison.
