This fall my friend and I were walking on the upper road which is a dirt road in our town that connects the village of North callus to Moscow Woods Road.

There's a small farm there that sits down off the road and I never knew

who it was. But when my friend and I were walking by, a man yelled from the barn, do you want to come

see some pigs? And really there's only one answer to that question.

We went down and John Raoul showed us his new piglets.

There was about eight of them, and only one of them was dead.

The runt who was set aside from the others.

John showed us the piglets and the pigs and then his cows.

And the thing about hanging out with John and his brother Eddie in their barn

is that you really get the feeling like you are somewhere.

Like a whole life can happen in a single place, which isn't a very novel idea, probably most people

on the planet stay pretty close to home.

But lately I've been paying a lot of attention to everything that's happened

everywhere but here. So it was really nice to sit with John in his barn and

occasionally his brother Eddie. The barn isn't very big and we sat about

three feet behind a single row of cows and their stanchals. Here's John Raoul.
