with will ragged and our round table guest Andrew Kramer of the Star Tribune

so I'm going to pass it over to will and we can start our roundtable discussion.

What is up Will?

Not a whole lot, just getting ready for another day of training camp.

But the big news of yesterday, Tuesday at TCO Performance Center was Irv Smith Jr.

The announcement from Kevin O'Connell on a day that he was actually not scheduled to speak,

came over and told us, which was appreciated,

that Erasmith Jr. the reason he left practice early on Monday was a thumb injury. He had surgery

Tuesday morning and will miss the remainder of training camp and the preseason.

They are still hopeful that they will have him week one against the Packers, which is a big deal,

whether they have him or not not just because Irv is a

player that is a popular breakout candidate. He's a popular breakout candidate last year

until he got injured and the Vikings don't really have any other proven depth

at tight end. I think their entire roster had one

regular season catch at tight end last year. Johnny Mon had had one reception for

the LA Ram. So it's a big it's a big blow for Smith.

It's hopefully not going to be anything that keeps him out

of regular season action.

But yeah, they kind of got to regroup now

going forward the rest of training camp

and in the preseason. And maybe we'll see what they have in guys like
