Genesis chapter 28.

We have been camped out here in this text for a few weeks and it's been so wonderful

having God speak to us through it and we've been just learning so much about God's plan

that really dovetails perfectly with the Christmas story. We're gonna read

verses 10 through 18. It says now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Huran.

So he came to a certain place and he stayed there all night because the sun had set and he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head and he lay down in that place to sleep.

Then he dreamed and behold a ladder was set up on the earth and its top reached to heaven.

And there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.

So if you can picture a ladder with the angels cruising up and down on the ladder.

And behold, the Lord stood above it and said,

I am the Lord God of Abraham, your father and the God of Isaac, the land on which you lie,

I will give to you and your descendants.

Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth.

You shall spread abroad to the west and the east,

to the north and the south.

And in you and in your seed,

all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

Behold, and this promise I want you to sink into your heart this Christmas,

no matter what's going on, because I realize we got a stack deck here,

you know, we got people who are like, I love Christmas.

You are like, Will Farrell, you are just rabbit about it, you know, it's like Christmas

curls, yes, that's how we spread cheer.
