Welcome back to Buckeye Talk. I'm Stephen Means, and that's Stefan Christnick. We talked

with Ross B. York, which I think it's the first time we've

done like a formal sit-down press conference with Ross B. York since he officially became Ohio State's

athletic director last July. And it was for good reasons. Obviously, the House settlement has found a

conclusion where now student athletes are going to be paid by their universities directly as part of the revenue

share for the TV revenues.

But Ross B. York at Ohio State, it's going to be four different sports.

It's going to be women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball, and football, as maybe

you could have expected.

And we're expecting maybe football to get the bulk of that.

But Stefan, you checked in on why women's volleyball is a part of this. So I guess let's start with that.

Because we know why basketball and football. There are the two revenue earning sports on Ohio State's campus.

So we know why those were in. Why did volleyball get kind of, what did Ross B. York say at the podium? And then also, what have you found out about why women's volleyball got grouped in with these other three sports?

Yeah. Ross Biorch's explanation was actually pretty good in terms of talking about the Big Ten has a lot of success in volleyball. You look throughout the conference. And every year, I mean, it's, it's not a surprise

if the four teams or three of the four teams and the final four are from the Big Ten. I mean, Penn

State's a powerhouse. Wisconsin, Nebraska sells out volleyball games like it's nothing. Illinois

has had a decent history. Michigan's had teams. Ohio State, even if you look through their

histories, has actually been decent in volleyball

at times. You know, last couple of years, not as much, but you go through the Ohio State
