by way of a run-in with Spike Lee in a club to her most recent role in your honor, opposite

Brian Cranston, and countless roles in between, Rosie Perez is Hollywood Gold.

But long before the bright lights and cameras, the storyline of Rosie's life was much different.

The scene was Brooklyn, and a young Rosie Perez was cast in a role she never asked for.

Born to a mom who suffered from mental illness, Rosie was in the care of her aunt.

But for reasons unknown, Rosie's mom took her from that loving environment at age 3 and

placed her in a convent, a home for displaced children.

Rosie's childhood memories are fraught with stories of abuse and fear.

But little Rosie resisted, she focused not on the adversity but on learning to dance and

moments spent with those who believed in her.

And through it all, Rosie harnessed a fighting spirit, one she holds to this day.

She is an activist of fighter and a die-hard boxing fan.

But even at 58, Rosie is still grappling with the effects of her childhood, anxiety, nerves,

and survivors guilt.

But in the end, reflecting back on all of it, Rosie sees her story as one of perseverance

and grit.

This guy is the final episode of season 3.

I really wanted to focus on spiritual leaders and teachers, and no one can teach resilience

like Rosie Perez.
