of badass female celebrities who have been torn down by tabloids dissected by social

host, Chelsea Devantes, I'm a writer, comedian and filmmaker, and this week we are book clubbing

the memoir of Rosie Perez, published in 2014 titled, it's a very long title, a handbook

for an unpredictable life, how I survived Sister Renata and my crazy mother and still

came out smiling with great hair. This book will take you on a ride. Oh my god, it has

none. It has hot goss, really hot goss. And it ultimately is a handbook for how to overcome

anything that's thrown in your way because every single obstacle that could be thrown

in someone's life is thrown into Rosie's and she overcomes it.

What her hobby was is that we would go to this club called Florentine Gardens and there

was a soul train talent scout and he saw me dancing and he said, would you like to be

on soul train? I was like, are you kidding me? Yes! And I said, what can my girlfriends

come with me? And he says, why I need to see them? And we all look like well put together

hookers, basically, that was our style. That's a good look. Yeah, right? That's a good

look. Yeah, I know, right? And so he goes, oh yes, they could come. And so we were dancing

on soul train and we didn't take it seriously. We thought it was a gas. So that took

it paid for your help to you with college, did it? They didn't pay us. We didn't get paid.

Our payment was a two piece Kentucky fry chicken lunch box. That was Rosie Perez talking

about her first big break on soul train. And I love that clip so much for many reasons.

But one of them is just because she's so funny and she is such a good sense of humor.
