Summary

Join Emily and Raymond in North London with the brilliant comedian Rosie Jones!

Rosie started her career behind the scenes in television as a writer on panel shows. She’s gone on to become a household name - appearing on shows like Taskmaster, The Last Leg, 8 out of 10 Cats and Would I Lie To You!

Rosie’s never had a dog - but she’s always wanted one… and she has an elaborate plan that she’s going to enact to make sure she gets a dog in her life soon - and it can’t come soon enough!

We discussed how hard Rosie is working to protect her boundaries when she’s approached by members of the public, her approach to dealing with exes and how she realised she used humour as a child as a mechanism to combat ableism.

Rosie is currently on tour with her new show I Can’t Tell What She’s Saying. You can can find a date near you and buy tickets at https://rosiejonescomedy.com/

Rosie has recently set up the Rosie Jones Foundation which is on a mission to empower lives and change minds. It is taking a stand against isolation and prioritising inclusion. This begins with two key priorities: ensuring access to appropriate, lived experience-led mental health support for individuals living with cerebral palsy and fostering community connection and peer support through events and workshops. This podcast is sponsored by Magic Radio. So I've had the builders in recently, and I won't lie, we've had a few disagreements.

0:40.1

Apparently, my obsession with the colour pink is borderline weird. But one thing we've totally bonded

0:46.0

over is our shared passion for Magic Radio. The truth is everyone loves Magic Radio, because

0:51.7

there's no other station quite like it. Where else can you

0:55.3

guarantee you're going to hear the best variety of songs from the 80s to now? One minute, you're

1:01.0

singing along to the Spice Girls, the next Bruno Mars or a bit of Adele, and then suddenly my current

1:06.7

fave, Teddy Swims. And best of all, you never hear the same song twice between nine to five during

1:12.6

the no-repeat workday. I also get to start my mornings with the fabulous Got Quine and Harriet Scott

1:18.9

on the Magic Radio Breakfast Show. And I've got Gabby Roslin and Mel Gedroich keeping me company on weekends.

And when the day winds down, Nikki Chapman brings a soundtrack

1:29.6

of relaxing favourites on her mellow magic show, ideal if you need to put your feet up after a busy one.

1:36.2

So thank you, Magic Radio, for the constant daily joy you bring into my life. I wonder if my

builders are saying the same thing about me. Listen to Magic Radio on your

1:46.5

digital radio in the free Rayo app or ask your smart speaker to play Magic Radio. So I need to warn you.

1:54.0

Yeah. Rays a bit slow at walking. Me too. Everything you said about race so far, he likes boobs, he likes flirting with all women and they're slow at walking.

2:15.6

You can't be dis to me about it now.

2:21.3

This week on Walking the Dog, Ray and I met up with the very wonderful comedian, writer and actress Rosie Jones in London's Walthamstow.

2:30.3

So Rosie and Ray, I think it's fair to say, fell totally in love with each other at first sight.
