again by Beth and Boxdoll, a rose extraordinaire.

She's growing so many varieties, 120 plus varieties in her backyard, but she's actually a full-time

realtor here in San Diego, so this is a very deep hobby for her.

Her and I are both members of the San Diego Rose Society, and she's a rising star with the

American Rose Society and a certified consulting Rosarian with them.

So certainly a lot of experience that I know when you came over and you gave me, well my

first rose, but also you gave me the other two roses to plant, and I got those two in

the ground because they're not the climbers, I was freaking out about how to plant them.

I think you probably remember that.

And so if someone is, you know, they got their first rose, they're really stoked on it,

they want to plant it.

We did tease a little bit about the bud union, but how can we get started planting a rose

for the very first time?

The very first time, so you want to make sure that the soil is ready.

You want to water that soil before you even put the rose in the ground, otherwise it might

be too dry and hot for your rose.

And actually let me rewind a little bit.

The best time to plant your roses is in the winter.

So anytime between November through, let's say, the beginning of March is probably the

latest that you want to plant your roses.

I like planting them from the pot into the ground.
