What you know, alibiers. Welcome to a very brief episode of Pretty Lies and Alibis. I'm Gigi. Good to have you here. It's Monday, January 13th, the day. The Rose Petal murder trial was set to begin. Got up early, got to the courthouse, got law and crimes, equipment plugged in, ready for that live stream found my seat

we waited we were told jury selection would be taking place in a different

courtroom and we weren't able to observe that but the plan was maybe a jury

selected by lunch and then we would hear pretrial motions in the afternoon and

be ready for openings in the morning.

A lot of people had left to go have lunch just knowing we had a couple of hours to wait.

When we got the news that they just were not able to see a jury due to the fact that this trial is going to last two to three weeks at minimum, and that's a hardship

for a lot of people understandably. So, solicitor Walt Wilkins was kind enough to come out

and talk to us, and I'm going to let you guys hear what he had to say.

Other impediment. So therefore, the case has continued until most like the February I hope but the judges and the clerk of court are working together to solidify those and we're checking with our witnesses availability as well. So I apologize that y'all brought this beautiful equipment up here and set up a pretty pretty amazing work over there, highly impressed, and that as soon as we

had it rescheduled, as well, we will certainly let y'all know as soon as we know. And hopefully in the

next 45 days we'll all be meeting here again, and we can proceed and the state can proceed with

its case. So I guess today was a test run for everybody in the media. We all were just hanging out

together. One thing I do want to note is behind the defense table, there were three rows of people

there seemingly in support for Zachary Hughes.

Over on the prosecution side, there were two people sitting there, one of which is a local listener of Pretty Lies and Alibis.

So I thought that was very interesting. I'm not sure who the second person was. I did not want to walk up and say, who are you?

But a big showing for Zachary Hughes. We didn't see

him today. We saw all the attorneys come in briefly in the morning. Everybody left for jury selection,

but as soon as we have a new date, I'll let you guys know. I've already put this out on social

media as well as YouTube, but I know there are a lot of listeners who don't use social
