My entitled roommate lies to all of us and gets away with not paying rent for literally two years.

But after me and the rest of my roommates found out about this, we decided to get some revenge.

By ruining this guy's chance at ever getting his deposit back, by throwing the most destructive and messy party we've ever had in our life.

And I honestly don't feel bad about it in the slightest because this guy absolutely deserved it.

Here's how it went down.

Okay, so I was renting a six-bedroom house with eight other people two years ago. We were all in our 20s, earning good money and partying very hard. The landlord didn't want to deal with us individually, so it was decided that one person had to be responsible for paying rent for all of us. Now, the person who paid the rent, who we will call Dave,

also paid the initial deposit. Dave had rich parents, so he always had spare money to help out, and everyone agreed that he was a great bloke. Now, Dave promised to pay the rent for the last month for all of us if we clean the place up when the contract ended. Now, the house wasn't trash, but needed a deep cleaning and decorating

and a few repairs to get the deposit back.

Unfortunately for Dave, he was away when the landlord came to do the initial inspection to let us know what needed to happen for the deposit to be returned.

And in conversation, it turned out that the rent was being split eight ways and not nine.

Apparently, Dave had been living their rent-free for two years without any of us knowing.

So, we had a massive party over a long weekend.

Drinks were spilled and a few fights broke out on more than one occasion.

We didn't put anything out for the dustman for two weeks,

cleaned absolutely nothing, and moved out the day before Dave got back, literally one day before

handover. Surprisingly, though, he managed to get $400 of the deposit back and tried to make all

of us pay the outstanding money that we owed him. He eventually gave up after threats of police

involvement if he tried to pursue it. Well, fast forward and I found out a few years later that our actions totally wrecked his plan to put a deposit down on the house he was saving up for, which is even better because that money was literally ours and not for him to use how he pleases. Dude, how did Dave do that? Seriously, this guy has rich parents and he tries to sit there and be like, oh yeah, I'll take care of the rent guys. Don't worry about it. And he literally just sneaks past everybody for two years, not paying any rent. Like, don't get me wrong. Yeah, this guy's absolutely the jerk, but also that's really funny. I bet every single month, this guy's trying to sweat silently and be like, okay, maybe they won't notice. Maybe this time they won't notice and just let me just just keep getting away with this. And sure, you did get back at him, but I think in a way,

Dave did kind of win. Because although he didn't get the house that he wanted, he did get away with like not paying rent for a long time. And even though that makes him a trash human being, I still think it's incredibly hilarious. If you like Am I the Jerk, you're probably going to love
