One night in November 2017, police showed up at the home of 64-year-old Harry Bachman.

Harry lived in Elkins Park, an upscale neighborhood in Philadelphia.

Police were there to do a welfare check.

Harry's wife Caroline was staying with her parents in Albany, New York.

She told police that she had expected Harry

to drive upstate to meet her the night before, but Harry had never shown up. When officers got to the

house, the car that Harry had been driving, which was a red Ford escape, was missing. Then the officer

took a closer look and saw something leading up to the door, something that

looked like blood drops. Once investigators went inside, they saw signs of a struggle, broken

dishes and blood-spattered walls. It looked like there had been a fight to the death, and that's

exactly what happened. In the kitchen, there was a pile of clothes

on the floor. They later discovered the killer had shed their clothes and redressed in Harry's

clothes before driving away in Harry's car. There was a huge, gory trail that led to the basement

door. When police opened the door and went down the stairs, they found Harry's body lying there.

Harry had been beaten to death. The cause of death was blunt-forced trauma to the head.

They found Harry's iPhone 7, and there were already fraud alerts popping up. Someone was using

Harry's credit cards, and had checked into a local hotel

under Harry's name. Figuring out who this person was was not a huge mystery. Caroline said that

Harry's brother, 60-year-old Jameson Bachman, had been to the house the night before. She knew that

because she'd gotten a text from Harry that read, Guess who just showed up just as I drove in.

She knew he was referring to Jameson.

For Harry, seeing Jameson was a surprise, but not in a good way.
