What's happening Eagles fans?

Welcome in to my rookie diary series with cornerback Mack McWilliams.

Each week, I'll talk to Mack to hear his insight and perspective on his first season in Midnight Green.

Okay. you enjoy. All right, Mac, so let's start with this.

Your first name is DeCari it, right?

DeCary on.

How did you end up converting it to mac at what point did you and

did anybody call you that yeah to be real i ain't get started like folks and start calling me like

mac until i got the hospital i was always grow up like i had a nickname duda so like dula so like

everybody used to call me that just my nickname. Once I got to high school, I guess everybody started calling me Matt. Because my, I got an older brother named Fish. Well, his nickname is Fish. So they get fish sandwiched. That's his nickname, Fish Sandwich. So I guess they start calling me Matt once they see that he was my older brother and that he was

going big like going to high college and he had a lot of offers so in high school they started

calling me Mac and I just ran with it after that so what did Duda what did that come from?

My mom and my granny they used to call me that I was little I was always I was like one of the

bad kids so like any time like something bad was going to happen or they wanted something, they wanted to see something bad happening like, get them doot, get him doda. And it just ran with it. So your brother fished with a defensive tackle. You got to play with him at UAB, right? What was that, how competitive was that growing up? Your brother's defensive tackle, your defensive back. What kind of battles did you guys have? Oh, man, we battled every day growing up. We were separate because we had the same dad, different moms, but once we got together, it was all class. We always class heads. We used to race all the time. He used to be faster to me growing up actually. Really? Yeah, he actually was, fish was kind of fast.

So we raced every day and made sure I competed with him.

Then once we got to high school, I didn't get to go to high school with him. We literally was across the, like you jump a fence and that's his high school. So we always used to look at each other across the gate,

tell each other how we're going to do each other

when we see them on Friday night lights and things like that.

So it was fun.
