listener, a big, what's up? It's like old times around here for me today. I am coming to you

from the basement, not the basement in Brooklyn that I came to you for some years,

but the basement in my new place in Pennsylvania. I haven't ever recorded down here before. I've got a

nice attic upstairs and an office, and those have become like my new recording spots.

But right now, it's the middle of the night,

and everybody's sleeping upstairs.

So I'm down in the basement so they can't hear me.

And it's like old times.

Feels like old times.

I'm up in the middle of the night because when I got back from my trip to Japan a few days ago,

both of my girls were getting over a cold, and my jet lag depleted ass picked that up straightway uh so i get a little bit of cold i apologize

if my voice sounds a little bit off for that reason um it was a bit of a drag actually because

yesterday it was our our first planned family day.

And I took the girls to pick pumpkins and walk a corn maze and eat funnel cakes and fried Oreos.

And they were over there colds and felt great and had a wonderful time,

but I kind of felt like shit and was feeling cynical about the whole thing.

You know, I didn't really have any of that stuff in my childhood.

And, you know, it's not like you're actually picking those pumpkins.

They're just out there in the field, which is probably

pretty good. It's not a good idea to have the public wielding knives to sever the pumpkins

off the vine probably, but, and I just think I wasn't feeling very good. But they had a great time,
