Summary

In this powerful episode of the Meaningful People Podcast, we sit down with Miriam Greenwald and later with Rabbi Chananya Greenwald, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Tiferet in Yerushalayim (TJ), to reflect on the life, legacy, and impact of Ronnie Greenwald z"l, a man who quietly changed the lives of thousands.

From building Camp Sternberg into a haven for kids who didn't fit the mold, to negotiating on behalf of Jews imprisoned behind the Iron Curtain and in hostile regimes, this conversation reveals the heart, courage, and relentless compassion behind the legend. We talk about marriage, parenting, leadership, faith, forgiveness, and what it truly means to never give up on a person.

This is not just a story about accomplishments, it's a masterclass in loving Jews, believing in people, and living with purpose

Nobody probably knows Ronnie Greenwald the way that you knew Ronnie Greenwald. He somehow always felt that he could do big things. And he was right. To me, he was the most important guy there. My father just happened to be super. He became a Rebbe. They found that he really had a talent for bringing out the best in kids. So they started giving him the difficult kids. The kids loved him. And then he started Stern. Dey Seyakov said, if you go to Sturmber, don't bother coming back to school. You're telling me it's not suitable? All of a sudden, most of the staff backed out. He was not going to take this lying down. He got on the phone and he called every day school and every girl's yeshiva. That made Sturber what it is. They'd like people to fit in the box. People are far more complex.
