and made all of her six children play the scales.

I think we became unmusical.

But later on, I began to appreciate music and love it.

Did you ever get beyond the scales?

Oh, I could play a few fancy pieces.

I think I could play them now out of my head.

Did you play records a lot nowadays?

Yes, I played quite a lot of records.

Did you find it difficult to narrow your choice down to just eight?

Yes, I think I thought you were a bit mean, Roy, and only given me eight.

I could have given you 16 easily.
