Hey everybody, it's Chuck Arfine. Welcome to the White Sox Talk podcast. It is coming to

They were right in the wheelhouse of my childhood. They won 99 games and a division title

before losing to the Orioles in the ALCS. And even though they didn't win the World Series,

I just loved that team, the players,

the uniforms, the slogan, winning ugly, and everything in between.

2005 was special. That team won the World Series. But 1983 will always carry a ton of weight for me because it was the first

great White Sox baseball team of my life. And recently, we lost two key members from that special

team. Say Young Award winner Lamar Hoyt, who passed away in late November,

an executive of the year, Roland Heemond, in mid-December.

And I want to talk about Lamar and Roland with somebody who was close to both of them.

And that's Ron Kittle, who is not only a great player, he is a great storyteller.

And he can really explain the essence of both of them and the impact that Lamar and Roland had on the game and the White Sox.
