We knew him back in the days before he was an Academy Award winner, Ron Howard.

And it's funny because you told me once, and it's something I thought about in all the

documentaries that you've done, that you once wanted to be a journalist.

And there's this question about how people interact with society.

That's the part of all these documentaries you've done.

The JZ doc, the Beatles doc, the Joseon dress doc,

and now this documentary on Jim Henson, Jim Henson Idea Man,

about how people with ideas interact with the bigger world.

Now, I wonder if that's what attracts you to this material.

Well, what attracted me really was that I thought there were some surprises.

You know, I sort of thought I knew something about Jim Henson.

I had met him once very briefly, but did not know him.

Certainly was a fan.

But when I met with the family, I realized, first of all, there is an interesting family story, you know, underneath all of it.

And it's not tragic, but it's complicated, and it's interesting, and it's influenced by the work.
