All right, very excited to welcome in former Yale standout baseball player.

I'm going to preface that first and current governor of the great state of Florida,

Mr. Ron DeSantis. Governor, I appreciate you coming on, my friend. It's good to get you on.

Oh, it's great to be here. Thanks for having me.

Definitely, and I want to jump right in. I know you're a little busy around this time of year,

really all the whole year when it comes down to it. But you know, we talk about on the show,

how sports is a teacher of life, how team sports are a teacher of life,

how it can affect you growing up, learn to work with other people, how has athletics shaped you

and in your life up to this point? Is there still some things things you go back to,

are there lessons that you've learned every day kind of in your normal routine?

Well, I think there's probably two things that I come back to. One, when I was 12,

my little league team at a Dunneedon, Florida made it all the way to the Little League World Series

in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. So back then, there were four American teams.

So we had to win local, sectional, state, southern region with 13 states,

and then go to the World Series. But what we did at the start of that season was underneath

the bills of our cap. We had an abbreviation, WWT, which stood for We Want Taiwan, which at the time,

Taiwan was the machine in Little League Baseball. Now it turns out that's because they had 13 and

14-year-olds playing instead of 12. Put aside that, that's just kind of the nature of it. We

didn't know any better. So our goal was to get to Williamsport and we did, and we didn't win

the entire thing. But I think that showed me that if you set a goal and you work every day,

that you can accomplish really big things. And I think the other thing is, it's just when you're

playing really seriously high school college or beyond, it does take a lot of discipline.
