Welcome back, you know, Theology Geeks to Sochiology 101. We are going to be walking through Romans chapter 9 by playing a video of Dr. Jordan Cooper. Some of you are asking if he's on the program.

I would love for him to be on the program.

I've made several mentions on his broadcast and on Twitter and other places that I'd

love to get together and he hasn't taken me up on that yet.

Maybe he will one day.

I actually enjoy listening to Dr. Cooper.

I don't know how he feels about me, but I think he seems like a

kind and reasonable fella, and he has a lot of teachings that I actually agree with. Some of

you're going to hear today. In fact, I'm listening through this podcast yesterday when I was

walking, and I was listening to the audio format, not the video, and I'm going to be playing the

video for you.

I just found myself amening almost everything he was saying as he was walking through Romans chapter 9.

Much in the same way, by the way, I do when I'm reading many commentaries from Calvinist, in fact, lower forms of Calvinist.

And so it's interesting to me when it comes to Romans

Chapter 9, which is really the crux of the debate with regard to the doctrine of predestination

and election and the controversy that has existed since the 5th century when Augustine first

introduced the idea of individuals being elected to salvation through some kind of

effectual gift of grace, giving certain people faith, the ability to believe while everybody

else is born with this incapacity to believe due to the fall of Adam, that that concept

was first introduced by Augustine as been established through a number of scholars' works,

including even some historical Calvinist

or reformed theologians who have come to that conclusion, that when we look at Romans
