Welcome to Searchlight, a survey through Scripture with Pastor John Corson.

It is our desire to bring you a systematic study of the entire Bible,

chapter by chapter, book by book.

On our last Searchlight program, we began looking at an interesting concept found in Romans chapter 8.

We learned that God has predestined us. He has chosen us to be saved.

Now this brings up some interesting questions. Why did he choose us?

And what part do we play in this choice?

Let's now join Pastor John for the continuation of this teaching and the answer to these questions.

I know that God loves me, he's elected me, therefore he's going to see me through this and usher me into eternity,

but I also recognize that it's not because of my righteousness, it is not because of anything that I am or

have done that caused him to elect me into the kingdom. In fact, quite the contrary. We are

trophies of his grace. Angels will scratch their heads with their wings and marvel perpetually at the grace and goodness of

God saying how could you choose a guy like that John Corson man you are gracious father you are good

you see so in this whole arena of predestination, this mystery, this marvel, this miracle,
