Welcome to our new project, the Daily Bible Devotional. The goal is to help you understand and apply

scripture as you go through a New Testament Bible read five days a week, Monday through Friday,

as we move from Matthew straight through to Revelation. In under four minutes each morning, we will recap the chapter,

make some application, present thought questions for the day, and offer a prayer together.

Welcome to our Bible study today in the Daily Bible Devotional.

We will begin the book of Romans here in chapter 1.

The Apostle Paul writes to the church in Rome in the name of the risen Lord Jesus Christ,

commending their faith and expressing his desire to visit them.

Thus far, prevented from doing so, Paul wishes to see them and strengthen

their trust in the gospel, which is the power of God for salvation to all who believe. This gospel

reveals God's righteousness and calls believers to live by faith. However, Paul laments that many

have rejected God's truth. Despite God's power and divine nature being evident in

creation, many have turned to idols forsaking the Creator. God has allowed them to follow their

sinful desires, resulting in immoral practices and corrupt behavior. Knowing God's will,

some continue to engage in these acts and encourage others to do the

same. This sounds a lot like the world we live in. Let's see what we can look at for our benefit.

Christ Jesus, God's son, appoints Paul as a preacher to the Gentiles. Paul's message aims to

inspire, quote, the obedience of faith among believers in Jesus

name. We are called to believe and to follow God's will. The two cannot be separated. The gospel

possesses the power to save while revealing the righteousness of God, guiding us to live by faith

and strive for righteousness.
