Well, I can see why most folks were hesitant to make war with them in the past.

Granted, there was a wave of Germanic incursions into Roman territory last year, and a few years before that too, but there haven't been any other major hostilities

other than those. And if they weren't afraid to make war with them, I shake my head and grimace,

mostly myself, wait till they get a taste of my Saxons.

There's a quiet menace about the Romans.

Oh, they're centurions issue the occasional shout, and they bark sporadic order, sure.

But for the most part, they're silent.

It's unsettling.
