I wrap my cloak around my shoulders more tightly.

The fire is putting off dark smoke due to the wetness of the wood.

It smells of... of... smoke, I guess.

I grab another handful of moist sand and let it fall through my fingers.

I sigh, tasting morning breath.

The sky over the water is dark like ink.

Behind me, dark gray with a hint of blue.

Another gust of wind.

I hear it whip up the flames.

A wave crests and pushes folds of seaweed ashore, only to be dragged back out to sea again.

I watched the sand fall from my palm again, running its coarse greens between my thumb and fingers.
