| 0:00.0 | If I said to God, God, I am willing to sacrifice me as an artist, me as an actress, me as this crazy, wild, gypsy personality. |
| 0:14.6 | If I was willing to sacrifice it and I move somewhere where people are normal and happy, and I say that I'm willing to be normal and happy, and even just get a normal job like working in a coffee shop or who knows what? |
| 0:27.2 | I'll make you a contract. Would you then give me a husband and children before it's too late? |
| 0:36.2 | I have one of those conversations that you never expected to have, but in a moment changes everything, either changes the path of your own life or the person that you're speaking to. |
| 0:47.2 | Well, this conversation actually starts around one of those conversations with an old friend of mine, Gabbara's Ackman, and the funny thing is, I was involved in the conversation and I have no recollection whatsoever, but apparently it triggered something pretty unusual. |
| 1:06.2 | So we're going to dive into that, and I think it's also a really fitting episode because we're heading into Valentine's Day this week, and there's a really interesting interplay between love and romance and romance books. |
| 1:22.2 | So with that, I'm going to leave you with the conversation. I'm Jonathan Fields. This is Good Life Project. |
| 1:37.2 | Fancy a fever tree in a glass with ice and rum. You thought I was going to say gin, didn't you? |
| 1:46.2 | But I'm talking about fever tree ginger beer made from three gingers for that perfect blend of freshness, sweetness, and spiciness, delicious with rum or on its own. |
| 1:59.2 | Fever tree ginger beer mixed with the best. That spices things up. |
| 2:10.2 | So we're hanging out, which is kind of fun for me because we've been kind of loosely in and out of each other's lives. |
| 2:19.2 | I was a little bit less loosely quite a number of years ago, and then the last just kind of like touching bass. |
| 2:25.2 | And I resched to you a couple of weeks ago, and I was like, hey, I got this idea. I think you'd be really cool to rotate in. |
| 2:30.2 | And I was like, let's catch up anyway. It's been a really interesting story for me. |
| 2:36.2 | And then you were like, the last member of the last time we had a conversation, and you remember what you said to me right before we left, and I was like thinking I'm like, |
| 2:45.2 | it was either something really bad. She's going to throw at me or something deeply profound that she remembered this whole time, and I have no idea what she's talking about. |
| 2:54.2 | And then you said to me right it was a good couple years ago, and I remember I was right in the midst right in the thick of an interesting life story. |
| 3:04.2 | And you said your next step is to write a book, which of course I remember clearly. |
| 3:11.2 | Yeah, and I remember thinking, actually remember thinking at the time, yeah, that's cool advice, but I don't know that that's going to happen, or it didn't it didn't register as something possible or even desirable at the time. |
| 3:24.2 | And what were you actually why in your mind like what are you actually up to? We're hanging out in New York City where my recollection were at a cafe. Like what's your life looking like at that moment? |
| 3:33.2 | At that point, my life was just it was a little bit more, it was a little bit more defined by a certain dream that I had, and the dream was that I'm an actress, but I act in these places and in this way. |
| 3:48.2 | And then I had gotten really I was midway through the beginning of the best audiobook career on earth, which is as an audiobook narrator. |
