Hey, this is John Gordon with Positive You and today my guest is Roma Downey. Roma, how are you?

0:14.6

I'm great, John. Thank you. And thank you so much for having me on. And can I just say I just

0:20.6

love the name of your podcast. I mean, Positive You as what we all need now more than ever is a bit

0:27.5

more positivity. Well, I appreciate that we do need more positivity and we also need more hope,

0:33.7

which is why I love this new movie that you have coming out on Discovery Plus. It is the movie

0:40.0

called Resurrection. I'm so excited for this. Can you talk about this movie and why you decided

0:45.8

to do it now? Absolutely. I mean, you've hit the nail on the head so to speak because we've all

0:54.5

just come through or we're still in the final throws of coming through what has to have been

1:00.3

one of the most challenging years, I think for all of us collectively. And Mark and I were my husband,

1:08.7

Mark and I were very keen to be able to put something out into the world that was positive,

1:15.2

that was hopeful, that wasn't encouraging and comforting. And so we worked with our editors

1:22.0

in London back and forth virtually to create and craft this beautiful film that tells the story

1:30.0

of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And unlike other films, John of the genre, which really

1:36.8

probably tell more of the ministry of Jesus is passion and death and so on. Mark and I made one

1:44.2

ourselves called Son of God. Of course, Mel Gibson made one called the Passion. This particular movie

1:50.9

resurrection focuses more on the following the disciples after the death of Jesus. So the film

1:58.8

opens up at the crucifixion and and then we follow the disciples in those first few days after his

2:06.1

death. They're filled with grief filled with confusion filled with tremendous fear, of course,

2:13.1

because if they were killing Jesus and Jesus followers, the concern for for themselves that they

2:19.5

might be next. And so the impulse was to flee Jerusalem, maybe to go back to Galilee.

2:26.6

And yet they know that Jesus has promised that in three days he will rise and so they decide to

2:34.8

stay. And of course, you know, the rest is history. He does rise and the world forever changed.
