author with the recently released memoir, Different Dude, which J.D. is holding up right now, a collection

of funny and candid stories about his life on and off the court. Basketball reference says he

Good. I think you did make up the word impresario or whatever that was. Everything else sounded

pretty legit. Okay. I don't really know what an impresario is. Is this like a mogul, I suppose?

Why do I feel like you have a story of your things getting stolen and your feelings getting

hurt in every endeavor that you've done?

You've picked ones where those things tend to happen.

I mean, if you think most people, their stories are one of those two things. Some was stolen or their heart was broken, and a lot of times it's both. Okay, well, that brings us to the book. First of all, congrats. Thank you. So in the intro, you say that you didn't want to write a memoir, but obviously it is, in the sense I guess that you didn't want to tell a story chronologically, a biography.

But it is obviously a collection of memories.

And I was curious if you were, when you sat down to write it surprised by what you remembered.

Because I find that I tend to remember the dumbest things about my life

that wouldn't necessarily be helpful in telling interesting stories and maybe not the quote
