And no, I haven't seen many saints in Newark yet at the time of this when this air as I probably would have seen it. Maybe twice already. But I am here at Mark Ellis. We are going to be talking about the fact that we're excited about it. What the hell am I doing on my birthday. How many times am I going to watch many saints in Newark? That's definitely going to be something we talk about. Venom is coming up here and some things about venom. Is it good? Is it bad? Who knows? We're going to talk about that.

The description. Mark Ellis's favorite Rocky movie is Rocky IV and there was an ultimate cut and ultimate directors version of that movie by Sylvester Stallone. Comedy Club in Manhattan with myself and that guy. But it is your birthday, Christian. So we do have to sing a song. Are you ready? Go ahead. A one, a two. There's no easy way out. How much should you love that? I just showed Mark that before we start. We'll get right into it. So the Rocky about a big thing. So now, did you know about this thing? And obviously, I've been following it. Obviously, since Stallone, Stallone put it up on Instagram account like a year ago. And I remember you

were probably the one that broke the news to me and I got instantly excited. Some stuff you're going to be happy about and there's some stuff you're going to be mad about about because they take things out. Robots gone. The robot. The robot. I can live without it. We still get the training montages and possibly more training montages from Sylvester Stallone. It is absolute apex more fight sequences. I think the fight is going to be more brutal. Yeah, I think they're going to add more facts. There's remember that movie. That movie plays the theatrical one that you love is like an hour and many people.

It's like an hour and 23 minutes or something. It's really it's something real stupid. I could put I could use it all day. And I think that because you have both versions of it. This is going to be the more serious version that Stallone could do. Nowadays because when you watch that trailer, it looks like you know when you put in. Goonies modern day trailer and you get some some guy who who did it. That's what it feels like. Yeah, but it's kind of this new stuff. It looks great. The music. They think the reformed Rocky tune.

In the back, the fact that they call it Rocky for Rocky versus Drogo, the ultimate director's cut. It's like, this is like the Snyder Snyder cut. I always want it. But it's voted the greatest fight in my who movie history. Who's the body voting on. I mean, I don't know whether it's necessarily. Yeah. But yeah, I'm pretty not sure. This might be Dolph Lungring. It's probably both for one or two weather. I don't. Yeah. But it's I mean, whoever voted. Thank you. Because this is the.

I mean, again, it's my favorite Rocky movie to rewatch. Yeah, because it's just so endlessly rewatchable. But even if it's not the greatest Rocky, if it's not the best film, it still is the one that I would want to see. The fight is great. More footage of the fight is great. And there's a lot in that story. I mean, it is. It's the cold war. It's two countries. Yeah, it seems like they're going to be playing more into that aspect of it too with additional footage. So this is the thing though, because Rocky for to me, I was enjoyed watching it. Right. It's a music video.

The majority of the movie is a music video when he goes into the car and he's looking to no easy way out seeing like he just see flashbacks of it. It's like a five minute scene of just cuts from the other movies, which is five minutes of still on looking in various mirrors. Right. And that's that's what it is. No problem. And my my thing with that movie was and it's the same thing I say swear by it. It proves that if Rocky five would have ended in the ring. Very different movie. Better received in general, because yeah, if if Rocky four ends on the

street with Drago and Rocky fighting the street, people would have lost their minds and said, that's terrible because the majority of it is just a robot video and whatever it is. It ends with World War three. That's that's it. But I think you're going to see a more. I think because I remember I've seen the movie so many different times, Rocky four, like thousands of times. Did you see in the theater? Yeah. Yeah, I remember seeing that I remember where I was. It was Bay Terrace in New York.

Whole place go crazy. Yeah, but I remember I remember as a kid going out with short. I was like, you were like in and you were out. It was like it was so fast. Like you're you're in the fight. And the question.

If I ever get the opportunity to interview Stallone again, well, you're close personal friends. I am not. But if I ever had an opportunity to interview him again, I would ask him why there were so many cuts in the first place and you

assume it's studio interference, right? Because I remember watching that as a kid. And there's like when you know in the newspaper,

they show that Rocky's going to fight Drago. And there's a clip from you know, seeing that trailer that he's talking to the Boxing Commission.

You always felt like there was a scene, but they never did. There's no scene in it. And then and the funeral seemed like it should have been longer.

And there's more funeral. It seems like he's revving himself up at the funeral, which is like, man, yeah, I mean, look,

the whole reason why myself and so many other people adore Rocky for so much is that it is that ultimate gym movie that you put on to get motivated to go work out, right?

It's like you can get through this workout. If you get some Rocky for music, maybe you saw one of the montages before you hit the gym.

And this looks like it's got more of that motivational stuff in it. And so that's the bones of Rocky is a story. Is it inspires us to believe that we could amount to greater than the some of our parts.

So if you give me more parts, the sums greater. And then I'm climbing a mountain in Russia screaming Drago.

This is what I'm getting at because we've always had you and I've had this playful debate for years about how which will your favorite Rocky is, right?

And I've never like one, two and three. I always I at any given day, I could put one over the other could be one of those three, but it's always stayed in that first trilogy.

One of those three is going to pop up to the depending on when I watch it, how I'm feeling when I watch it, one, two or three could always jump back and forth.
