Thank you for tuning in. I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and getting ready to take a deep breath and get us into 2025.

As we're still in the midst of the kind of Christmas New Year celebrations, this is a special

rock and roll politics podcast where we have raided the archive of bonuses from the Patreon

podcasts.

And I've kind of picked out two for you to listen to and reflect on over this period.

Perhaps when you're out walking or cooking on New Year's Eve, New Year's Day or whatever

things we do at this time of year.

What we do with the Patreon bonus podcasts is how various themes, strange, mysterious general elections, political rivals.

And one of the other themes has been The Troublemakers in British Politics.

And I'm actually now writing a book on The Troublemakers.

And it was prompted by my publisher listening to that series and being especially fascinated by the episode on Enot Powell and Tony Benn.

So I thought I would pluck those two out and here they are.

First will be Enoch Powell and then there will be a pause, and then you will hear the one on Tony Benn.

Two figures, one from the right, one from the left, but there are connections between the two.

As I'm finding writing the book on troublemakers, there are quite a few common themes linking the troublemakers,

going back actually to the 19th century. Anyway, much more of that when I've written the damn thing.

But in the meantime, here we are, beginning with Enoch Powell and then moving on to Tony Ben.

And before all of that, I just want to say to all of you, happy new year.

more to make sense of in our times together in 2025 at live events. And of course, on the podcast, it's going to be quite a year.
