I'm Jim DeWergottas and I'm Greg Cutt, but first we review some new music from Lizzo,

Perfume Genius, and Moona.

Oh man, that is a little bit of girl.

She was born Melissa Jefferson, lived in Detroit until the age of 10, when her family moved

to Houston.

Growing up there, she listened to a lot of gospel music at home, she took serious classical

flute lessons, and she played in the marching band.

She was also rapping with friends in her middle school and high school, really broke

through when she moved to the frigid climate of Minneapolis in the North in 2011, becomes

part of that city's thriving underground hip hop scene, works a little bit with that

guy, Prince, on Plectrum Electrum, makes guest appearances on all sorts of great hip

hop albums, and then goes to make her second India album at Boni Vairs Studio, right?

What it's to break through, it's album number three, the first major label album because

I love you in 2019 that really puts her on the charts.

Juice is a hit single tempo, collaboration with Missy Elliott is another big hit, and Lizzo

is suddenly everywhere.

To say that people have been eagerly anticipating this album, her second major label album

fourth overall is an understatement.
