Jan U.S.ke is an American music journalist, co-founder of Cream Magazine.

She's written, produced, and appeared in numerous music documentaries, and is the

co-writer and producer of the 2019 film Cream, America's only rock and roll magazine in

2022. She came back as the editor-director for Cream's relaunch and remains to this day, so far as

I know, the only journalist ever to perform live on stage with Kiss.

What was that like, and how did that come about?

They were really trying to break Kiss at that time.

I mean, Kiss was just a great idea, you know, and no one was buying it.

They just thought it was a, you know.

This was what year?

This was nine. Well, I did it in 1975, but 1970, when they came out 73, 74, they were not like selling like thousands of copies. They weren't sell they're probably selling thousands of copies and they were always trying to get us to write about cream about kiss so um there was an article in esquire magazine about this writer named blair sobel who had gone on tour with the Ikeets,

with Icon Tina Turner and the Ikeets. And she, she performed as an Iget. And Connie Kramer,

the publisher's wife and assistant publisher, said, do you think you could do something like that?

And I go, yeah. She goes, who would you do it with? And I said,

kiss. I do it with kiss. So I called their publicist the next morning and I said, I've got this

great idea for a story. Could I perform with kiss? And they said, yes, right off the bat. They go,
